Rabbit anti-peptide antibody to viral interleukin-6 (vIL-6) of HHV-8. HHV-8 ORF-K 2 encodes vIL-6, and IL-6-like protein of 204 aa (23.4 kDa). vIL-6 is a lytic protein of HHV-8, and ~25-30% of cells express this viral cytokine in TPA-induced PEL cell lines. This antibody originates from rabbit serum and is purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
