Preparation of Lysate:
HSV-2 purified virus adjusted to a protein concentration of approximately 1.0 mg/ml and Triton X-100 added to a final concentration of 0.5% in TNE buffer.
Protein Concentration:
[varies by lot] mg/ml by Pierce BCA protein method using BSA standard. Alternative methods for determining protein concentration may give different values.
Functional Activity:
Reactive in Western Blot using HSV-2 gG MAb and nonreactive using HSV-1 gG MAb. Reactive in ELISA.
Herpes Simplex Virus Type 2, strain G (HSV-2, Human Herpesvirus 2, HHV-2). Family: Herpesviridae, subfamily: Alphaherpesvirinae, genus: Simplexvirus. Enveloped DNA virus.
HSV-2, strain G purified virus lysed with Triton X-100. Virus is completely inactivated and contains all viral proteins present in active preparation. Can be used for applications such as ELISA or Western blot requiring non-infectious viral proteins.

This product is shipped frozen on dry ice. Store at -70°C upon receipt. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles as product degradation may result.
