Storage Temperature:
-20˚C Human Immunodeficiency Virus 2, strain NIH-Z (HIV-2). Family: Retroviridae, genus: Lentivirus. Single-stranded, positive-sense enveloped RNA virus. DNA isolated from HIV-2NIH-Z infected cells supplied at a concentration of 50 ng/µL cellular DNA in a volume of 100 µL. This DNA is not suitable for quantitation.
Suspending Buffer: 10 mM Tris, 1 mM EDTA, pH 8.0
DNA Quantitation: DNA concentration was determined by fluorometry using PicoGreen®.
PCR Analysis of DNA Control: PCR analysis was performed on infected cell DNA using the Applied Biosystems Core Reagents PCR Kit and primers specific to the envelope gene of HIV-2. The reaction produced a 603 bp fragment. The PCR product was visualized on a 1.0% agarose gel using EtBr staining.
