HPV-18 Transformed Cell DNA
Human Papilloma Virus 18 (HPV-18). Nonenveloped, double-stranded DNA virus. DNA isolated from HPV-18 transformed HeLa cells supplied at a concentration of 50 ng/µL cellular DNA in a volume of 100 µL. This DNA is not suitable for quantitation.
Virus: Human Papilloma Virus Type 18
Cell Line for Propagation: HeLa--Note: HeLa cell DNA is reported to contain approximately 25-50 copies of integrated HPV-18 DNA per cell.
Suspending Buffer: 10 mM Tris, 1 mM EDTA, pH 8.0
PCR Analysis of DNA Control: PCR analysis was performed on purified HeLa DNA using the PE Biosystems GeneAmp® Gold PCR Reagent Kit and primers specific for HPV-18. The reaction produced a 140 bp fragment from the E6 region of HPV-18. The PCR product was visualized on a 1.0% agarose gel using EtBr staining.
DNA Quantitation: DNA concentration was determined by fluorescence using PicoGreen®.
*Note: Upon thawing, centrifuge the vial for a few seconds to remove residual droplets from the lid.
