CMV AD169 Strain Quantitated Viral DNA
Human Cytomegalovirus, strain AD169 (HCMV, Human Herpesvirus 5, HHV-5). Family: Herpesviridae, subfamily: Betaherpesvirinae. Enveloped double stranded DNA virus.
Virus: HCMV, strain AD169
Virus Preparation: Purified virus
Suspending Buffer: 10 mM Tris, 1 mM EDTA, pH 8.0
Cell Line for Propagation: Human foreskin fibroblasts (HFS)
PCR Analysis of DNA Control: PCR analysis was performed on purified CMVAD169 DNA using the PE Biosystems GeneAmp® Gold PCR Reagent Kit and primers specific to the glycoprotein 108 gene of CMV. The reaction produced a 292 bp fragment.
DNA Copy Number: 1-2 × 104 copies/µL (varies by lot, please contact ABI for details)
DNA Quantitation: Viral DNA copy number is determined by real time PCR1,2,3,4 using the Roche LightCycler®. DNA copy number may vary depending on the quantitation method used.
