VZV Rod Strain Quantitated Viral DNA
Varicella-Zoster Virus, Rod strain (VZV, Human Herpesvirus 3, HHV-3). Family: Herpesviridae, subfamily: Alphaherpesvirinae. Enveloped double stranded DNA virus.
Virus: VZV, Rod strain
Virus Preparation: Direct pelleted virus
Cell Line for Propagation: Vero
PCR Analysis of DNA Control: PCR analysis was performed on VZVRod DNA using the PE Biosystems GeneAmp® Gold PCR Reagent Kit and primers specific to the glycoprotein E gene of VZV. The reaction produced a 677 bp fragment.
DNA Copy Number: 1-2 × 104 copies/µL (varies by lot, please contact ABI for details)
Suspending Buffer: 10 mM Tris, 1 mM EDTA, pH 8.0
DNA Quantitation: Viral DNA copy number is determined by real time PCR1 using the Roche LightCycler®. DNA copy number may vary depending on the quantitation method used.
