HHV-6A Early Protein p41/38
Product Description: Mouse monoclonal antibody to the early protein, p41/38 of HHV-6A. This antibody originates from ascites fluid and is purified by protein G chromatography.
Hybridoma Clone: C 5
Protein Concentration: Determined by BCA Assay using Bovine Gamma Globulin (BGG) as the standard. Alternative methods for determining protein concentration may give different results.
Presentation: Purified IgG in phosphate buffer saline (pH 7.2) with 0.01% Thimerosal
Isotype: IgG1
Purity: > 95% pure as estimated by analysis of Coomassie blue stained SDS-PAGE.
IFA Titer:
- HHV-6AGS infected HSB-2 cells = Reactive (IFA Titer: 1:80-1:160)
- HHV-6BZ-29 infected Molt-3 cells = Non-reactive
Functional Activity: This monoclonal antibody derived from hybridoma cell-line induced ascites fluid, originally reactive with both HHV-6A and B, but following in vitro and in vivo passages, now reacts only with HHV-6AGS,U1102 by IFA. Does not cross-react with HHV-6BZ-29. HSB-2 cells infected with HHV-6A that reacted with this antibody display patchy intranuclear fluorescence by IFA.
Recommended Use: HHV-6A p41/38 MAb, if used in conjunction with HHV-6 A/B MAb to early phosphoprotein p41 (ABI Cat No. 13-216-100), can differentially identify types A or B of HHV-6 isolates and also be used to detect early viral protein expression in infected cells, indicating active virus replication. These MAbs can be used in IFA and/or IHC detection systems.
